After Ellie convinces herself she is worthless as a hero and a mere sidekick for getting captured and Andrew teasing her about it, the Blue Witch unexpectedly returns, stating how he has been revived by the White Witch since their last bout. He taunts Ellie about getting captured by his own underling, then stuns Andrew enough to drain his powers and capture him. He takes him to an unknown location and leaves Ellie unconscious on the floor, with her powers seeping away from her. When she awakes, she realizes her obligation to save Andrew and to one-up him by doing it on her own. She trains day and night to be able to get back up to her previously- attained speeds and find Andrew. She locates the witches' lair and uses her speed abilities to break the sound barrier and the barrier of Andrew's cage. They realize that they need each other to save the world and to succeed, so they put past grudges aside to team up once more and defeat the Blue Witch, getting their powers back. Andrew apologizes for his teasing and look in shock to see the ominous shadow of the Blue Witch in their presence.
