Domain Nineteen | Internal Unease
December 16th, 2022
This short story is a dialogue between two people discussing whether or not it is worth it to go for a change or to keep things the way they are, even if it is unsatisfactory. One of the people worries that everything they depend upon is a lie to keep them at bay rather than something truly built upon mutual trust. If this is true, they figure there is no reason to do so, which is the most horrifying part about it.

Trivia
This story was originally set for the December 16th, 2022 meeting of the Young Writer's Forum alongside Kid Ruler. Since that meeting focused on the white elephant prompts, it was pushed back to January 27th, 2023's meeting.
This short story pairs well with Evergreen Stillness as a before piece compared to it as the after.
