September 2015
Mark stars a third grader with an obscenely crazy family. He has an annoying younger sister Kara, a deranged mom, and a bus driver scientist kind of guy as a dad. His dad interrupts his class to show him the Statue of Liberty falling causing an Earthquake that they must stop. They travel to another third grade class in 2015 where the class dances. Mark and his dad go to 2011 where he and his mom are riding the Tornado roller coaster at Stricker's Grove. 2011 Mark flies out of it, and 2015 Mark catches him.

Mark's sister is very obviously based partly on Logan Bauer's sister. This is most obvious in how similar their names are--Kara and Karis.
After Rory was hugely successful, it was at one point considered for Mark to be Rory before his robot suit, and for the series to act as a prequel. The idea was scrapped.
The theme park mentioned here, Stricker's Grove, is a real theme park in southern Ohio. It is very small and run-down.
When written, 2011 was only 4 years prior. This was a relatively small time jump, compared to how it may seem now.
