The announcement of the video's release read "i'm in severe debt now come see what i thjnk that would be cool 🤭🤭" and was posted on August 13th, 2023 at 1:38 PM.
The video was almost called "My Splurge."
The copy of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was bought just prior to the announcement of its remake for the Nintendo Switch in 2024, which would cause copies of the game to plummet in value.
